...It's the same thing?

Students: (-----)

(Baby crying)

YB: Does he drink the milk or not?

Student: He drinks it. He won't drink it right now. He usually drinks it.

YB: Everybody is here or we are early or what? What happened to everybody?

Student: (----)

YB: Working on what? Working their way to come here or?

Student: (----)

YB: Has he gained any weight?

Student: (----)

YB: Haa?

Students: (-----)

YB: Tummies, tummy sticks out because we overfeed him. Now you should exercise and he will digest it and he will become fat and doctors will like it and you know... we are doing this crazy job to this child only to just appease the American insanity. Otherwise he is doing all right. That's normal when the children go through the teething they reduce themself, they synchronize themself, body adjust to those situation to produce calcium and make the tooth and take it out and all that system so it's a very huge natural system in the body, which we don't understand in this country though. So idea is normally children are very itchy, their eyes get sore and red and or they have lot of diarrhea, lot of diarrhea, they get very weak because then body metabolism that becomes founded on its own strength. Here it's such a funny thing about children that people only feel that if child is very fat and very heavy, then he is healthy.

When the child is very fat and overeaten and made to digest all the heavy food and you do all those things to him, actually that totally upsets the child from the very foundation. Children should be fed regular; they should be fed at a proper interval, and they should be given only that food, which is nutritious. Bulk food or food which is not nutritious is overtaxing to children. Health wise it's not a good thing. When you overfeed a child, you overfeed it, it's okay. But that poor person has to digest it. You are only responsible for the feeding the food to the child, you are not responsible for digesting the food. You want your baby to be fat, to be healthy, to look healthy, look big. Have you asked that person what he wants? So when our metabolism started over excessively producing fat as a young kid, then in the later age when we cross thirty-six we go fat.

Actually lot of food in this Earth is medicine. There are two types of food, nutritious food and sustaining food. Nutritious foods are which allow you to develop your body and give you the strength; sustaining foods are those, which does the medical job for you, which maintains your metabolism. So the basic property of a food is food should be nutritious, food should be sustaining, and food should be a balanced food. Balanced food is that food, which can get digested without drawing on the health. It should not put sustain on the body of the child or the person. What you are saying?

Student: (----)

YB: Actually speaking fact, four-five ounces of ordinary milk, boiled milk, when the child is young with fifty percent water is a perfect food and if we really want to grow the child we put him on a food like wheat milk, almond milk, just to substitute and the greatest problem on this planet is mother think she has to nurse the child, question is, is she a nurseable mother? Does her metabolism is all right? If you nurse a child on a mother who is fat it will make the child go fat. Yes. Therefore sometime we dislink the mother so that the metabolism may not have any effect. The idea is to... this is how idealistically you have to understand. Today I got upset with that girl and normally I don't lose temper but today I had to. I can't believe she is totally telling me that I am an idiot only with one idea that I should not tell her stop nursing your child. Now the child, which is being nursed by that look at her health, she is totally drained out, has no minerals left, auraAura The radiant field of energy and consciousness that surrounds the physical body and which holds and organizes the seven centers of energy called chakras. Its strength, measured by brightness and radius, determines the vitality, mental concerns, and psychophysical integrity of a person. is totally weak, and still she is determined that she must nurse the child. Now this I can't stand. I can stand if you don't want to do something. But I don't understand now how can you be cruel to the child. What is important? You? Yes. Child? Yes.

Child has individual personality, individual identity and child must work for its own life and it must be given what is needed to be given. Not that what we want to give. Never feed your child what you want to give. See what is good for it. I mean to say I had... thereafter I have never talked to any mother about food, a mother prepared food for one year and three month child in my presence. I was in the kitchen. She put one bag of sprout, Alfalfa sprout, half a that cup of cottage cheese and then she put honey that I can't believe it that if those pancreas are still there with the child, it must be a miracle and over and above she put cream milk, and then blended it and then she said, "Oh I forgot!" and then she went and took a half apple and half banana and tuck it in. I was eyewitness to it. I mean to say I am not making it up with you, I saw it with my eyes. And I didn't say a word, you know I just was amazed and I slipped away up in my room and I satSat Existence; what is; the subtle essence of Infinity itself. there and after half an hour I came then and she has finished all that big plate.

Now I assure you that poor child is going to get that after four hours again. And you know what she told me? "Yogiji, you told me after every four hours I should feed the child."

I said, "This what you gave to the child if you eat it, you cannot digest it the whole day."

She said, "That is true. I sometime simply eat leftover and then I don't eat meals."

I said, "You eat leftover and you don't eat meal what about this poor thing? I agree God has given you cottage cheese, God has given you apples, God has given you bananas and God has given you child, don't murder his growth with your foolishness." I said, "Who is going to tell you ever? That little one year three month old child has to digest all that food and after four hours you are ready with a plunger again to pump it in?"

(Students laugh)

Don't deal with these little saints with emotions. Just treat them with kindness and respect. Give them what is their due. You do not understand sometime and it's a fact. Children do weird things, they cry, they fight, they go on those moods and temperaments, that's all because of food, they have to let that energy go somewhere. What should they do? You can get on a telephone and talk half an hour and when you ever overeat telephone is the next answer. Five dollars on food and nineteen dollars on a telephone call. You know if all people eat right, telephone company revenue goes fifty percent down? I am not kidding with you. We have to talk to somebody, why? First of all we can't talk to ourself. So we have to find somebody to lay that negativity or positivity whatever it is and telephone is the only way, which connects us all over the country.

Now I give you a very simple emotional example. One of the person, I'll not name it, asked me, "Yogiji, can I ring up my mom and talk to her?"

I said, "Honey call collect." Normally I don't say. But I outrightly said, I said, "Call collect."

She said, "Okay, can I sit in your room and talk?"

I said, "Sure."

Forty-five minutes she was discussing with her mom, I want to talk to you and mother was saying "Why did you call me?" That's all was the conversation. Forty-five minutes she was paying the bill and this thing didn't get settled why she wants to call, mother didn't know why she wants to call. All she was telling her that I am miserable, you are very lucky then why you call me, you want to just play a fool of me and... I don't know, but I know from half side of her that she was just before a judge in a criminal charge for just calling, after she hung up on mom, which was another wrong thing, I satSat Existence; what is; the subtle essence of Infinity itself. down and it took me one hour to explain to her it was wrong and you know what she said? "Well, why didn't you tell me not to do it in the very first beginning? You told me to call collect, I did it."

I said, "I asked you to call collect, I knew this nuisance is coming so I said face it yourself."

You basically must understand there are two things in your life, which you must know, one is PranayamPraanayam , Pranayam , Pranayaam Regulated breathing patterns or exercises. , one is pratyahar. PranayamPraanayam , Pranayam , Pranayaam Regulated breathing patterns or exercises. is when you want to expand yourself, your power, your psyche, your intuition, your understanding. And pratyahar is when you synchronize yourself. The life is based on contraction and expansion. If contraction and expansions have imbalance you are going to get it. pratyahar means contraction. Synchronization. So when you think your mind is your mind, there are two conditions to test it. Whether you belong to your mind or your mind belongs to you. There are two ways to test it. One is at your will, at your will can you synchronize your mind if you want it? And at your will can you expand your mind when you will? This should give you answer for everything.

Suppose if there is a talk going on and everybody is going, can you just say to yourself 'I am not going and forget about it?' Not that you say to yourself I am not going because you feel depressed or not. No, not at all. If you cannot withhold yourself, then answer is very simple. Then you don't belong to this world, you belong to your mind and when you belong to your mind then you belong to a monkey. Then in dreams even you cannot be happy, forget about everything. All this Yoga and this NamNaam , Nam The manifested identity of the essence. The word derives from Naa-ay-ma , which means "that which is not, now is born." A Naam gives identity, form, and expression to that which was only essence or subtle before. It is also referred to as the Word. Naam Simran , Nam Simran This refers to the state and act of deep meditation by dwelling and merging into the names of the Infinite, of God. The Aquarian Sadhana can be an individual or group practice; Ideally, it includes the recitation of Japji Sahib, a Kundalini Yoga kriya, and chanting the Aquarian Sadhana meditations, immediately followed by Gurdwara. According to Yogi Bhajan, the potency of any Kundalini Yoga and meditation practice will be enhanced in a group setting. , any KriyaKriya Literal meaning is "completed action." A Kundalini Yoga Kriya is a sequence of postures and yoga techniques used to produce a particular impact on the psyche, body, or self. The structure of each kriya has been designed to generate, organize, and deliver a particular state or change of state, thereby completing a cycle of effect. These effects have been codified and elaborated by Yogi Bhajan and form the basic tools used in yoga and its therapeutic applications. , anything, we can control our mind to our use. Not that this mind becomes monster and it starts using us. Mind tells you, you are not to die, mind tells you, mind tells you, you are alone. It is transcendental in nature, not a product of the mind but a part of pure awareness. It is a witness of everything and can only be revealed through itself. , you are Atman; you are supposed to look at it.

If you become a actor then you will go through the pain and pleasure, you will be in trouble. You have to watch BanaBana , Baana One's outward projection, often refers to a specified clothing that projects a consciousness. , Mann-na the will of God, in the will of God is impossible, don't try to take a plunge I mean to say better learn from a swamiSwami Master. , then there is no fun studying with me. You can't do these things what they tell you in the life to do. If they tell you, it's very simple they will tell you. Oh just live in the will of God everything will be all right. It's not easy to live in the will of God. Saying it is easy, it doesn't cost anything. But when you come to living it's impossible.

All right, when it is impossible what makes it possible? Simple! Become a observer. Be it, be in the game. Don't get away from the game, be in the game, just observe it. If on the screen shooting is going on audience, you are sitting in the audience, you are watching, it is happening, good. How can a person be lonely? It is a simple saying you become lonely when you forget God and GuruGuru That which takes us from ignorance to knowledge; from darkness, gu, to light, ru. It can be a person, a teaching, or in its most subtle form - the Word. . Two things you forget, only third is that you are lonely because then you become you and disconnect you from the God and the GuruGuru That which takes us from ignorance to knowledge; from darkness, gu, to light, ru. It can be a person, a teaching, or in its most subtle form - the Word. is very lonely, it's very pain some. Then only answer is go for drinking a booze. Eat meat...

(Welcome)

Then eat meat, eat meat, drink booze, then live like an animal, then you are away, there is nothing human. Then exactly your life is exactly what the animal lives like. animal gets up, animal eats, animal feeds, animal does sex, animal gives babies, animal raise them, they are perfect than you if you look at them. Simply animal does not have the mind to observe. Animal has to act. It's a direct difference between a human and animal. Systematically we have to condition our mind. Systematically we have to tell our mind this is house of the GuruGuru That which takes us from ignorance to knowledge; from darkness, gu, to light, ru. It can be a person, a teaching, or in its most subtle form - the Word. , it doesn't matter whom it belongs to. It matters how you train your mind. Today somebody donated a apple tree, five dollars, ten dollars, fifty dollars, hundred dollars, doesn't matter, dollars come, dollars go. Trees come, trees go. Tree gives fruit, tree dies, doesn't matter. Nothing matters. That has got nothing to do with anything but there is a feeling, feeling, simple feeling. There is a feeling I donated this tree. After ten years the same person can tell the child, "My son, my daughter, ten years ago, ten years ago I donated this tree."

Child will get a impression ten years ago my mother knew how to do charity, period. I think you should be charged ten thousand dollars for that lesson for your what you call it 'personality built up.' There was a friend of mine, once I told him, I said, "Donate this thing."

He said, "Why, why I should donate? You should donate."

Oh I said, "I donate it doesn't matter to you, your children know you are the most miser and most selfish person. If you will donate that they will see that you are not selfish, for your good I am saying, I don't worry about it."

"Oh then it's all right, I'll give it."

You know tree doesn't matter. Tree will be there. We bought that ranch, right? We are paying for it, there is no problem. But that day we call all the children, all the little one, didn't call you, you egos, we even didn't bother about you. So call those little ones and flew the flag and dedicated that to the future children. You mean children have come from the camp and from that minute living all the time? No, no, it is a home, where they have not to go anywhere, when they want to go somewhere it shall be their home. It doesn't matter how painful it has to be now but it has to be built that way when any Khalsa child, anywhere in the country wants a respectable and graceful shelter, he can always walk in.

Certain rules will be made that that person will be estate of the GuruGuru That which takes us from ignorance to knowledge; from darkness, gu, to light, ru. It's a national therapy, it has to be done. What we have to face ten years from now or hundred years from now we have to build today. It cannot be built in my name; it cannot be build in your name, only common among us is the word of GuruGuru That which takes us from ignorance to knowledge; from darkness, gu, to light, ru. There is no difference but every other land belongs to every other person. This belongs to the commonwealth of the Khalsa. We have to have a common reserve. That's why I incorporated Siri Singh SahibSiri Singh Sahib Honorary title given to Yogi Bhajan to indicate his role as spiritual leader of Sikh Dharma in the West. His complete title within Sikh Dharma is Siri Singh Sahib Bhai Sahib Harbhajan Singh Khalsa Yogiji. , period. It's a religious body now. Its assets will be the commonwealth of the Khalsa. It has to be done. On one side we say,

"Nanak NamNaam , Nam The manifested identity of the essence. The word derives from Naa-ay-ma , which means "that which is not, now is born." A Naam gives identity, form, and expression to that which was only essence or subtle before. It is also referred to as the Word. Cherdi Kala, Terey Paney Sarbat Da Pala,"

You wish good of all and there is no place where all can come. It is important for us today to think, think what? Think how we can be Divine? It takes the same energy that you can think how ugly you are, it takes the same energy of the mind to think how beautiful you are. You go to a movie, you spend three dollars. You just don't go to a movie, you save three dollars. But going to movie or spending three dollars or saving three dollars nobody will remember. But remember in your life three dollars given in charity will always give you in essence a coziness.

I tell you my own story and it's not something, which is not practically happened. I used to teach in one of the center when I came early in America, just to keep my life going. So the lady in charge said that I have to teach eight hours during the day, then in lieu of that in the evening I can teach my own class. Now she is not going to pay a penny, eight hours of work to earn my right to teach three hours in the evening. Well, I had no other means; I said, "Okay, I'll do that." So I'll go early in the morning and workout the whole day for that woman. In the evening I'll teach. And every week whatever the income will come, one fourth or one third I do not know that, she will give me. Do you understand how much work goes in? First I have to work for her, eight hours. Then in the evening whatever income mine is, out of that lion share she is going to keep, little share of that she is going to give me. And that was the only arrangement at that time was possible, I said, "Okay."

One week, it was one of the week, I went up and she said, "YogiYogi One who has attained a state of yoga (union) where polarities are mastered and transcended. One who practices the disciplines of yoga and has attained self-mastery. , can we go for meals?"

I said, "Well, if you give my paycheck, I can entertain you today."

She said, "No, no, today I want to feed you. I want to take you out."

I said, "Fine, it's okay."

She said, "By the way this is your envelope."

I said, "Thank you," I tuck it in my pant. I used to wear pant, I had no clothes when I came in this country. Everything got stolen in Amsterdam. So I didn't have even a shirt, ShaktiShakti The creative power and principle of existence itself. Without it nothing can manifest or bloom. It is feminine in nature. gave me her son's shirt, which I wore for about fifteen days, I never knew where to clean and where is the laundry because I want a place where I can clean it, I never knew that it is done in a machine. So I wore it as I had it, I never bothered about it. So she one day was with me, she said, "You used to smell very good, what is happening?"

I said, "Nothing, I am all right, what is wrong with you? Is something wrong with your nose?"

She said, "Nothing." And then she really looked around and she said, "My God, this shirt has to be changed."

I said, "What do we do? We don't have a second one and..."

(Students laugh)

"And three days are there to Sunday so it is going to stick around for three days and then we think over it."

So there was a blind man and he was saying at the gate of that restaurant, he was saying, "Eyes are God's gift, but you can have a pencil so that I can make honorable living." Now honorable living knows what honorable living is. I do not know what happened my hand went automatically in the pocket, I took out that and I just gave it to him and I took one pencil and then I walked into the restaurant. He looked at that envelope, he said, "Please, hold, hold, hold, hold."

I went back, I said, "There is a money in it," I thought he is thinking somebody has just handed him over an envelope and took away his pencil. You know there are very great people here in that way too. So I said, "No, no, don't worry, there is a money."

He said, "No, no, no, there is a lot of money." I mean he was blind, but he could feel immediately and that was his conscious feeling, he said, "That's a lot of money. That much I don't want for one pencil. Are you from some different land?"

I can't explain to you what happened to me. I said, "What do you mean?"

He said, "There are not people in this country anymore like that. Just let me touch your hands."

He touched my hands and then he felt turban and then all that, he said, "India?"

(Students laugh)

I said, "Yes, India."

Then he said, he said, "You are a holy man?"

That did to me! I said, "Forget it!" I said, "No, you are holy man."

(Students laugh)

I said, "I am just a man" and then he put that pocket like that and he said, "You know you have given me out of love for God, I am blind and I look like a beggar but you are not only great but the greatness will be all over here, around you."

And then I saw tears coming out of his eyes and I saw that man kneeling down and I saw him praying. I couldn't stand that whole scene. When I came late the lady had already spread the food and she was upset that I didn't come in time, it's getting cold and blah blah blah and she entertained me and I am a crazy YogiYogi One who has attained a state of yoga (union) where polarities are mastered and transcended. One who practices the disciplines of yoga and has attained self-mastery. , I get along with the... first of all he is a black, second he is blind and what I am doing with him! So I came and she said, "What kind of... what he was telling you?"

I said, "Who?"

She said, "That old man. He is always there, you know it's his habit, he is a professional. What are you doing there?"

I said, "I was asking him to sign me a title of kingdom."

And she said, "What do you mean title of a kingdom?"

I said, "That's what he gave me!"

I told her, I said, "Look mother," I used to call her maa, I said, "Look maa, today I have seen what wife can do."

She said, "What do you mean wife can do? I mean you got some letter from your wife?"

I said, "No, I didn't get any letter from my wife. But I tell you what a wife can do."

She said, "What has gone wrong with you? You stood few minutes with that black blind guy and you are talking like a crazy man!"

I said, "That's true." I said, "The LakshmiLakshmi Hindu goddess of love, harmony, and prosperity. , the money is the wife of NarayanNarayan A Name of God in the aspect of Sustainer. , the God and out of Divine mercy the envelope you gave me I just gave him."

She said, "Gave him? Two hundred and some dollars you gave him?"

I said, "Oh whatever it was I gave him, period."

"Oh no, no, no, you can't do that."

I said, "I have already done it."

(Students laugh)

"What do you mean I can't do that? I have given that envelope, period."

"But what he did with it?"

I said, "He put it in pocket."

"Okay what else?"

I said, "Then he prayed."

She said, "You are a YogiYogi One who has attained a state of yoga (union) where polarities are mastered and transcended. One who practices the disciplines of yoga and has attained self-mastery. , you should just understand it, you know you worked for so much long time and that was the only salary you had and what you did with it?"

I said, "I bought the entire kingdom. Don't you understand what I have done with it?"

She said, "I don't understand."

I said, "Today I tell you and I also share with you." I said, "Not only I'll have estates, but those who even will follow me by mistake, I think they will have this entire land what you call is America," I told her, I said, "Look, I am telling you from south pole to north pole all the way." She didn't believe me at that moment. But after six years when I see her now her eyes do tell me, "You are right!" It is not that thing, which matters, it is the moment. It is that moment, it was that moment of human kindness in me and it was that moment of Divinity in him, two moments combined, heavens got granted. Heavens got granted.

It must have a garden, it must have a look, it must impress people that it belongs to some people who have grace, who have art of living, who knows how to live.

You know there are hundred twenty homes where I visit. They are all alike. It is so mentally set now it doesn't make any difference. Somebody once asked me, "Yogiji, what about your house?"

I said, "Every house is mine anyway. They are all my homes."

Do you know if you visit every ashramAshram , Aashram A community of practitioners who come together to live conscious, mindful lives. it takes you one year and eight months to come back? Just on weekly basis. What is all this? It is a energy. Who arouse this energy? You. Which you? The will. Will, which controlled your mind.

The concept of a Solider and Saint is a very unique concept. Mostly people don't understand when we say Soldier-Saint. Fighting is the aggressiveness, and we all have a Divine nature and a animal nature. If somebody tells you, 'get rid of animal nature' be very cautious of that person. Because Divine nature is very universal nature. You do need animal nature. Don't get rid of it. But you have to channel it. Use your animal nature to support your angel nature. If a person can work for a house of God for two hours and get tired, if your animal nature comes and supports your will you can work for sixteen hours and still not get tired. "Ditthey Sabey Thaa Nai Tho Jeeya Koiee."

"I have seen all the places; I have not seen any place like this."

It's true; it's true to its letter. There is no such place in the world where five-ten thousand people can be fed everyday and people who feed they say great wolf, we can feed you. I have visited the world, I have gone to all places, I have not seen a place so clean and so radiant. Temperamentally we people on this Earth do need to relate to something. Without relationship you can't live. But have a good relationship. Eliminating your fundamental nature is wrong; it is not a good education. But using your lower nature to support your higher nature is the greatest achievement. There was a one woman; she used to tell her husband, "Oh you are an idiot, you will never make money or never be rich, it is all nonsense, bah bah..." you know that usual negative record? And if that is what they call is big disk...

(Students laugh)

Oh double, what they call it?

Students: (-----)

YB: Long playing double jacket... what they call that thing?

Students: Album.

YB: Album. So some people have a very practiced musical negative double album!

(Students laugh)

And normally with woman there is a one problem if you tell her that you love her you have a problem. Moment you tell a woman you love her she will tell you prove it and she won't tell it direct to you. She will tell you through indirect, they call it communication tantrums. Woman is so graceful, woman as a institution is so graceful that nobody may get hurt, they don't know how to talk direct. It is not a weakness, it is a safety. The shyness given to woman is safety. She perceives the danger and she reserves herself. She perceives the power and she has to project but she reserves herself. That's it, nature. It is that graceful nature. Now psychologically woman is made that way. Why God has to make a woman that way? So that she can have the power to raise children, power to make the home cozy, she is basic power. So this woman used to play that double-jacket album all the time. Result was everything was deteriorating. Finally she got upset and out of something she came to Yoga class, from Yoga class she got hold of me and she told me the entire story. And you know with what a pride she said, she said, "I bug him, I bitch him, I fight with him, I push him out, but still he is not doing anything."

I said, "Sure, how can he do anything?"

She said, "You mean I am responsible?"

I said, "Sure, you are."

"What should I do?"

I said, "Just encourage him. Be spirit."

She said, "I don't know I can do it or not."

I said, "My dear lady, that's the last chance. No woman can achieve anything by fighting, by negating, and by negative communication. If you want peace praise the Lord. You praise the God, God gives you everything, you praise your husband he will give you everything."

She said, "He is not going to get up and give anything."

I said, "You just try."

After six months you won't believe her happiness. By negating, you just negate yourself and when you negate yourself you negate the surrounding of the self. When you negate the surrounding of the self you negate your own future, because you are weakening the base on which tomorrow has to stand. Committed woman can create God. Committed. When a woman commits to righteousness, then God is left with no option. And when a woman adapts to flirtation even God cannot save the coziness of that home. Now you can ask me why women? That axle of life is a woman. Axle of life is not the man. Behind every strong man there will be a strongest ShaktiShakti The creative power and principle of existence itself. Without it nothing can manifest or bloom. It is feminine in nature. . Behind every great victory there is a equally great tragedy. You got to go through the valley of pain to find the pleasure. Normally people are very funny they ask me, "Yogiji, all we want is to be happy."

I said, "That's all I want to tell you how. Happiness does not lie except in sacrifice."

What is a sacrifice? Sacrifice is when you give. Give. To what? Give to higher consciousnessConsciousness The nature of the self and being. In the realm of nature, awareness becomes consciousness. It is from the being itself. Being is expressed in consciousness through contrasts and sensations, in awareness through merger, clarity, and reality. ; give in the name of higher consciousnessConsciousness The nature of the self and being. Ego attaches us to and identifies us with objects, feelings, and thoughts. These attachments create a bias toward certain lines of action. Instead of acting you begin reacting. Karmas are the conditions required in order to balance or complete these tendencies. Though necessary, karma is not dictatorial or fatalistic. It is the mechanism that allows the finite experience of existence to maintain and stabilize itself. We all have free will and can take actions to re-direct the momentum of a karma. We can transform it or neutralize it using meditation, jappa, good deeds, or intuition that remove your sense of ego and the identification with that past line of action. . Some of you work overtime and some of you don't work at all. But you know who pays you for that overtime? Where you are investing that overtime? You are investing that overtime into your generations to follow. Sometime my own staff tells me, "Yogiji you stop, you have overworked, you don't do this, that's not fair, we need you more than you are trying to do" and I have a very simple answer, "Who has the time to stop?" Life is a moment to moment. One moment can give you the grace of the Universe, one moment. Casablanca of France. I always give this example. Casablanca of France. That moment he decided, he will burn himself with the flag but not leave the flag in flames. Stood with it, sunk with it, he is a hero of France.

DharmaSikh Dharma A living experience of values as taught in the Siri Guru Granth Sahib. Dharma A path of righteous living. Sangat means congregation. And it is a root word is Snehgat, Sneh, it's a very typical word Sangat, Sneh-Gat, Sneh means friendship; love for each other, compassionate feeling, Sneh means compassionate relationship. Sneh is a very fine word, Gat means through which there is a freedom, Mukti. Sangat means that congregation of affection, which can work for liberation. Gati, Gati means when you are liberated. Sadh SangatSadh Sangat Literally "congregation of the disciplined ones"; company of the holy. , Sadh means those who have disciplined themself. You are given almost practical technology how you can make yourself that gracious, but remember me in spite of the fact not only you be here, I tell you when you can do a SevaSeva Selfless Service. the heart of the Aashram experience is serving each other. .

There was a person once; he came all the way from Calcutta to Amritsar, all the way flew to do SevaSeva Selfless Service. the heart of the Aashram experience is serving each other. . When he came in Amritsar, he got such a diarrhea he couldn't even get up from the bed. He got so terrified, he went back to Calcutta. Moment he went there on third day he was all right. He got very upset. He went to a very saintly man and he said, "Sir, now I am a human being, err is human, maximum I could do is I could spend money, I could go, I wanted to serve, I have made up my mind to serve, I just did, I was there, I was sick all the time I couldn't get out of the hotel."

And the holy man laughed, he said, "You wanted to do SevaSeva Selfless Service. the heart of the Aashram experience is serving each other. , whether GuruGuru That which takes us from ignorance to knowledge; from darkness, gu, to light, ru. It can be a person, a teaching, or in its most subtle form - the Word. wanted to be done or not that is the problem. You went to do SevaSeva Selfless Service. the heart of the Aashram experience is serving each other. to do ego, you wanted to tell your relatives and people, 'well, I went to GuruGuru That which takes us from ignorance to knowledge; from darkness, gu, to light, ru. It can be a person, a teaching, or in its most subtle form - the Word. Guru Ram Das Fourth Guru of the Sikhs. Ram DasGuru Ram Das Fourth Guru of the Sikhs. house to do service.' GuruGuru That which takes us from ignorance to knowledge; from darkness, gu, to light, ru. It can be a person, a teaching, or in its most subtle form - the Word. did it to you."

He said, "Sir, I don't understand."

He said, "In house of GuruGuru That which takes us from ignorance to knowledge; from darkness, gu, to light, ru. It can be a person, a teaching, or in its most subtle form - the Word. Guru Ram Das Fourth Guru of the Sikhs. Ram DasGuru Ram Das Fourth Guru of the Sikhs. only law of humility works."

Those who humble themself at this house their generations will live always in bliss. Law of polarity. Those who will serve this house their generation will be served through all time and space. It's a law. Polarity must work. When there is a day there is always night. When there is night there is always day. When the clouds have come, sunshine is not faraway. That is why I say to you patience pays, have patience. Patience does not mean tolerating things; patience means to be firm in your righteousness. That is what patience means. Either learn the art of patience or be a patient. Tolerance, synchronizing yourself. Stopping when you want to stop. When somebody tells you, 'why you are not going?' And you said, 'I have to do my prayer.' You know what that means? That means converting another person right away, right on the spot. Because he will immediately think, hey this man can pray, why can't I? And it is total western, those who do their prayer and give their time in prayer they are never preyed upon by the evil and the devil. It is totally western saying.

"Thinna Nu Marey Koiee Kya Jinda Raakha Raam."

In GurbaniGurbani Word of the Guru, Refers particularly to the words from the Siri Guru Granth Sahib. there are one but millions of assurances. If somebody knows you and he knows that you are a personal friend of the Governor of any state, the other person will take little chance before he does anything to you. Exactly as we know God, talk about God, feel about God, know about God, then everyone knows that we are with God and once you are established you are a man of God, then God takes care of everything anyway. The concept whom you belong to doesn't matter who you are, what you are and who you are has nothing to do, it always is there a question whom you belong to! If you can prove that you belong to God and you have the guidance of a GuruGuru That which takes us from ignorance to knowledge; from darkness, gu, to light, ru. It can be a person, a teaching, or in its most subtle form - the Word. then this time and space will belong to you. Therefore I say take advantage of this time.

These earthly things can belong to you or they can belong to your GuruGuru That which takes us from ignorance to knowledge; from darkness, gu, to light, ru. It can be a person, a teaching, or in its most subtle form - the Word. or they can belong to your God. If they belong to your God they are yours, if they belong to your GuruGuru That which takes us from ignorance to knowledge; from darkness, gu, to light, ru. It can be a person, a teaching, or in its most subtle form - the Word. they are yours, if they belong to you they are yours, but when they belong to the GuruGuru That which takes us from ignorance to knowledge; from darkness, gu, to light, ru. It can be a person, a teaching, or in its most subtle form - the Word. everybody will know, when they belong to God then the whole world will know. That is the difference. Because when the king dies he dies, when a Saint dies he starts living from that moment. Saint lives after death, a king lives before death. Because the life of a Saint is the life of a legend, it's a life of a God, it's a life of hope, it's a life of levitated spirit, it's a life of sacrifice, it's a life of lessons. Life of a Saint is the life of lessons and life of a man is the moment liveth. Therefore we say when we ask you to marry and we ask you to take a pledge, first God shall be, next to it the word of the GuruGuru That which takes us from ignorance to knowledge; from darkness, gu, to light, ru. It can be a person, a teaching, or in its most subtle form - the Word. , and third will be the guidance of your life. We want you to be saints and soldiers.

Soldiers to protect the meek and the righteousness so that you can sacrifice. We want you to be Saint so that we can serve the humanity. It is only the privilege of a Saint to serve the humanity in God consciousnessConsciousness The nature of the self and being. In the realm of nature, awareness becomes consciousness. It is from the being itself. Being is expressed in consciousness through contrasts and sensations, in awareness through merger, clarity, and reality. . Arey you love your husband and you don't love the one who gave you the husband? What a funny you are! You love the money and you don't love the guy who sent you that money, who planned the opportunity that you can have it? During these days I do talk to your husbands sometime, they never ask me how their wives are doing. It may look funny to you but I can understand it, they are suffering with such a handicap look, she is doing there, learning everything, and here I am.

(Students laugh)

That's why they never ask me how she is doing or anything, not at all. I talk to them everyday. There is a tremendous satisfaction well, she has gone for a Divine work. If you going to tell them oh I am miserable, there were mosquitoes...

Oh wow, she is really changed. All past you can forget. You can make another person to forget past and you can start all over again. How you put it? This morning somebody asked me question, "Yogiji, you never shout at woman, what were you doing today this morning?"

I said, "I was not shouting at the woman, I was shouting at the devil in that woman." I couldn't believe mother can go so much to the extent that her own daughter is in jeopardy and she doesn't want to listen! You are you, but you have a tomorrow and your tomorrow are your children. Lay their foundation as saints and soldier today. Tomorrow you have homes of GuruGuru That which takes us from ignorance to knowledge; from darkness, gu, to light, ru. Don't we go to certain great places to some great Church and they say, "Well, at nineteen such and such when Italian came, they built all this as labor but out of their labor hours they built this Church!"

Have you heard it? That is the highest prayer a man can do for anybody. But that is one occasion in all the houses of GuruGuru That which takes us from ignorance to knowledge; from darkness, gu, to light, ru. It can be a person, a teaching, or in its most subtle form - the Word. this prayer comes everyday "Jaha-Jaha Khalsa Sahib," Sahib the great one, wherever that pure one and the great one, "Taha-Taha Rachiya Rihait" there that shall be Thy grace and protection. "Mann Eeva Math Oochi."

My mind maybe humble, below, low, "Math Oochi" my wisdom maybe high, and when you talk to me sometime you say my mind says it, you say how I like it. Mind is given to you; you are not given to the mind. Sometime you tell your mind, my mind, switch out something so that I can get out of the situation. Mind does it for you and sometime mind says hey so and so I am going to switch something on to you to get out of the situation, then who is the master? Mind or you? It has amazed me, one day I heard somebody saying, "Yogiji can we go for a week to such and such place to rest?"

It totally freaked me out! People pay hundreds of dollars to come to Santa Fe and all this area to rest, to enjoy, to relax, and people here are telling me that they want to go somewhere to rest. Restless shall not find rest anywhere. Those who serve today, those who pick up those deadwood, cut those trees, honest to you ask yourself how much rest you got out of that, how much mind got consoled. But you think there are all who can serve? There are some who just watched and left. Look at these people, now what is this part of the course! Some minds were berserk today. This is the part of the course to clean this wood and mend fences. I say to those thoughts, those who mended the fences today all the grace of GuruGuru That which takes us from ignorance to knowledge; from darkness, gu, to light, ru. It is your concept and it is your confidence, which can bring to you what you want to be brought. You know that story when they wanted to put him on cross all he said my father had many mansions. He is king of the kings. They made a mockery of him, they put a thorn that weed on his head as a crown and they hang him on the cross, you know that guy? Why you worship him? Just for that reason. Somebody once asked me, "What was the biggest sin ever done in Christianity that we are suffering and you are gaining the kids?"

You know in our inter-religious council? I said, "Yes, the greatest sin the Christianity got, it got started walking into the Roman shoes. From Roman you learnt the orgies, you learnt loose sex, you learnt booze and you learnt eating meat. And the second biggest sin you did that Jesus whom you call the Christ, born on twenty-fourth of August, you for your convenience celebrate in December. Is it not a sin to change the birthday of your guide? Well, if not on twenty-fourth of August, twenty-fifth, twenty-sixth, somewhere around is understandable. But twenty-fifth of December is not a joke. Because these were ten holidays of the Romans. Winter solstice. Romans celebrate equinox and solstice, that's all they used to celebrate. So for their convenience poor Christmas tree gets cut every year. We used to worship this Christmas tree, it doesn't die in any snow, it's the very living sturdy thing. So it was considered as a Christmas tree, as a tree of happiness because it represents life through the whiteness of the snow. When everything becomes dormant this tree is there, yes?

Student: (----)

YB: No, no, no, we celebrate within that month. You know it is just like that suppose fifteenth of March is the exact birthday, you follow what I mean? So one place will celebrate on thirteenth, fourteenth the other fifteenth. So for the congregation does it all around. Hmm?

Student: (----)

YB: Yeah, main is celebrated on that day but what I am trying to tell you but it is not that way that GuruGuru That which takes us from ignorance to knowledge; from darkness, gu, to light, ru. It can be a person, a teaching, or in its most subtle form - the Word. Guru Ram Das Fourth Guru of the Sikhs. Ram DasGuru Ram Das Fourth Guru of the Sikhs. is born in July and we celebrate in December because we had vacation leaves. All right, there is a one argument more, at that time we were slaves, it was a tragedy, we wanted to celebrate, now what is happening now? If ever the Khalsa will rule on the exact day it will be holiday. Will not add Sundays and following Monday with it to make a long weekend so that we can have lot of beer more.

The classic spirit of training when gets lost then life lives on rituals and ritual does not mean anything and finally the faith is lost and the spirit is lost and man falls apart. Therefore I say to you just understand the essence of everything. Vast yourself, expand yourself, don't be just sticky how to get up and have breakfast, 'I have to have nap, I have to this, I have to that, I can't do this,' that's not a human. You know who is a human? For every creative action the life, which comes first is a human. May the long time...

Haa?

Student: (----)

YB: Yeah, no, no, we are not changing that. It depends on, what day is tomorrow.

Students: Wednesday.

YB: Okay, Wednesday, well Hari Har will notify you the program. We will compute it. Whatever shall come through we will inform you. There is a possibility and I plan to do like that, when you all will come to that ranch for some SevaSeva Selfless Service. the heart of the Aashram experience is serving each other. and there maybe sometime lunchtime there and you all might be eating, after that hard work on the grass. Perhaps I may find time to be with you and then we can do ShaktiShakti The creative power and principle of existence itself. Without it nothing can manifest or bloom. It is feminine in nature. Chaalni and balance and imbalance of the energy within the physical, mental and the spiritual realm and perhaps may let somebody get levitated and do something. Who knows?

But it depends how it looks like. If you cannot create a environment to receive why should you be given? If you cannot invoke the power to somebody to bless you why somebody should bless you? Learn to invoke. If you can invoke the grace, race is yours. Invoke it. Oh I know. Hari Har!

Student: Dear Yogiji, I think you are the best man, I still remember when you told me how long I had to stay in Phoenix, (?).

YB: Some people really thank you when you do a thankless job. That is the first quality of a teacher that when he has to do the thankless job he should do it so gracefully that it should almost freak out the other person who listens about it. Because if you will spare by the time, KarmaKarma The law of cause and effect applied to mental, moral, and physical actions. We can transform it or neutralize it using meditation, jappa, good deeds, or intuition that remove your sense of ego and the identification with that past line of action. will get you and that's why there is no freedom, which is free and there is no liberation without labor.
