As we are all set in a mood to go to India and we shall understand it truly that our slogan is, let us go and clean the PrakarmaPrakarma , Parkarma Literally: A window to life. The marble pathway that surrounds the sacred pool and Golden Temple. to clean our KarmaKarma The law of cause and effect applied to mental, moral, and physical actions. Ego attaches us to and identifies us with objects, feelings, and thoughts. These attachments create a bias toward certain lines of action. Instead of acting you begin reacting. Karmas are the conditions required in order to balance or complete these tendencies. Though necessary, karma is not dictatorial or fatalistic. It is the mechanism that allows the finite experience of existence to maintain and stabilize itself. We all have free will and can take actions to re-direct the momentum of a karma. We can transform it or neutralize it using meditation, jappa, good deeds, or intuition that remove your sense of ego and the identification with that past line of action. . We are not part of the politics and the negativity or the positive approach, we are going there just to clean our faith, clear our consciousnessConsciousness The nature of the self and being. In the realm of nature, awareness becomes consciousness. It is from the being itself. Being is expressed in consciousness through contrasts and sensations, in awareness through merger, clarity, and reality. and carry on our mission.

I understand thoroughly well that we have one hundred children there and those children are in the dust of Amritsar. For thirty six people there is one bathroom, but I like to remind you it is not just a boiling pot in which my child is boiling, that is a Sikh history and my children are not being cut pieces to pieces yet. I don't care they must be tortured, turmoiled and torn apart, it is not I am absolutely not negative, I want that quality of my children of the GuruGuru That which takes us from ignorance to knowledge; from darkness, gu, to light, ru. It can be a person, a teaching, or in its most subtle form - the Word. 's children in India to stand there tomorrow. There is going to be a test tomorrow and that test has to be faced by our children. West has to rise to serve the east.

Some of you have forgotten history is already clear. Let me be very honest and very straightforward I never came here to spread Sikh Sikh Dharma A living experience of values as taught in the Siri Guru Granth Sahib. DharmaSikh Dharma A living experience of values as taught in the Siri Guru Granth Sahib. Dharma A path of righteous living. It is both an ideal of virtue and a path of action that is infused with clear awareness and comprised of actions that are the soul in total synchrony with the universe. It is action without reaction or karma. , never have claimed it, never shall be responsible for it, it is a miracle of GuruGuru That which takes us from ignorance to knowledge; from darkness, gu, to light, ru. It can be a person, a teaching, or in its most subtle form - the Word. Guru Ram Das Fourth Guru of the Sikhs. Ram DasGuru Ram Das Fourth Guru of the Sikhs. , but now if it has happened now and if our children cannot go and take care of the twelve, fifteen million Sikhs in Punjab who have forgotten who they are, now what is the use of us being here? That's technical.

You, you, do you understand that I don't understand that our every child has a room and every child has a room and a bathroom and every child has at sixteen a new car, I am blind, I don't see it? Why I took this risk? Why GuruGuru That which takes us from ignorance to knowledge; from darkness, gu, to light, ru. It can be a person, a teaching, or in its most subtle form - the Word. Guru Gobind Singh Tenth Guru of the Sikhs. Gobind SinghGuru Gobind Singh Tenth Guru of the Sikhs. send his son into the war? What is this? Are we, are we having children for the sake of meat and bone and structure or for the spirit and the strength? That is the answer I like to have today.

There is no, there is no untruth in it that I was born prince, I have seen wealth which nobody can even imagine. When my grandfather told me, "You got to go and learn," and I went to my teacher the first job he gave me was to wash bathrooms and sleep in a bunker. I understood that very day life has begun. My children shall stand calamity and hug it and will rise above it and still serve the GuruGuru That which takes us from ignorance to knowledge; from darkness, gu, to light, ru. It can be a person, a teaching, or in its most subtle form - the Word. . They are mine. I do not deny it from the day one and I shall not deny them tomorrow. As a grandfather, it is my right and my privilege and I shall exercise that. Criticize me for that, I am very grateful to you.

If we are not willing to suffer and we are not going this time to India... Look at this situation, we are spending half a million dollar just Yatra fund. It will cost us exactly half million and we are going to stay there ten only days, that's it, not eleventh day. What we are going to achieve in this? Just to remind them that we are with them, just to love them that they belong to us and we belong to them. If it is going to be ever that there is a Punjabi Sikh and African Sikh and Indian Sikh and American Sikh and all this will continue, then Sikh Sikh Dharma A living experience of values as taught in the Siri Guru Granth Sahib. DharmaSikh Dharma A living experience of values as taught in the Siri Guru Granth Sahib. Dharma A path of righteous living. It is not that we cannot stay in five star hotel and live wherever we want, we are very rich, that's we know, there is no need of showing it. I also know that people who live in Amritsar do not go to the GurdwaraGurdwara Literally the door of the Guru; traditional place where Sikh worship services are held. . I know also people who work in SGPC office do not go to Harimandir Sahib. It is not that I am not aware of, I have not forgotten anything, don't remind me again and again and again. That's not I am asking. But I am asking you one thing, why do you forget one line of the JapjiJapji , Japji Sahib The Song of the Soul written by the First Sikh Guru, Guru Naanak Dayv Jee. Saadhana opens with a recitation of Japji each morning at 3:40 am. A mantra, poem, and inspired religious scripture composed by Guru Nanak. Its 40 stanzas are a source of many mantras and can be used as a whole or in part to guide both your mind and your heart. ,

Imagine when we were going to go our idea was to go this World Sammelan, the world conference, they couldn't handle it. Now they are having a mini conference, they are having no, actually practically they do not know what they are having, that's, that's true, but we are going, we are going to house of GuruGuru That which takes us from ignorance to knowledge; from darkness, gu, to light, ru. That I can understand, but still Harimandir will remain Harimandir, doesn't matter how great we become and how best we can be. And that is positive. That is sure. And we'll keep it that way.

You know, the land of GuruGuru That which takes us from ignorance to knowledge; from darkness, gu, to light, ru. It can be a person, a teaching, or in its most subtle form - the Word. That's what I was saying the dust in the street of Harimandir is much better than all the nectar the angels can give me, the jewels they can shower me and all the hugs and kisses God gave me is no better than the mosquitoes which bite me while I sleep a restless night in the university of GuruGuru That which takes us from ignorance to knowledge; from darkness, gu, to light, ru. I wrote a beautiful poem, I don't mind expressing myself that way, because it is thinking too little too small and that is what practical. As we are Sikhs we have a daily work. Sikh has a quantum psychology of neurological progression and success. That is what the Sikh Sikh Dharma A living experience of values as taught in the Siri Guru Granth Sahib. It is both an ideal of virtue and a path of action that is infused with clear awareness and comprised of actions that are the soul in total synchrony with the universe. It is action without reaction or karma. is to understand, develop the basic scientific Sikh head, because we gave, we have to give our head to the GuruGuru That which takes us from ignorance to knowledge; from darkness, gu, to light, ru. It can be a person, a teaching, or in its most subtle form - the Word. , we have to offer this to the GuruGuru That which takes us from ignorance to knowledge; from darkness, gu, to light, ru. You don't offer something to the GuruGuru That which takes us from ignorance to knowledge; from darkness, gu, to light, ru. That's why we have to rise in the ambrosial hour and do what we have to do, but basically there are very simple things to do that each day your day should be better than yesterday. Each day your day should be better than yesterday because yesterday you are successfully let go and today is GuruGuru That which takes us from ignorance to knowledge; from darkness, gu, to light, ru. It can be a person, a teaching, or in its most subtle form - the Word. 's day and tomorrow is the day of your offering. If your presence doesn't work, then all the world around you will never work and each day you should be beautiful than yesterday, because Har Jan Har Do Ek, and you and GuruGuru That which takes us from ignorance to knowledge; from darkness, gu, to light, ru. Few things can make any person survive, Sikh is not escapist, he doesn't want to go the mountain and be there and take care of his food and hide in the caves, that's not a Sikh, Sikh lives a life full and very gracious, very dominantly shining, very imperial, very effective, because this is what is all about. If it is true that wealth is great, that's, I presume your theory, then let me know why a man with a loincloth or man who is naked is being worshipped by the whole world and everybody goes there to bow to him? He is naked physically, but spiritually that person is enriched, his radiance is great. Sikh on the other hand does this as a service comes down to the world, comes down to the living world and lives the life of a householder in utmost grace, in utmost dignity. Sikh has no negativity, no duality. Negativity will only come when you are negative and positive and you have duality, but you have a personality of a Sikh, then there is no duality, then everything is super positive; because it's a dedicated thing.

It was very funny, I was there in Mexico and somebody said that, "What should we do with Dusvand?"

I said, "First of all I cannot tell you what you should do with Dusvand, Dusvand doesn't belong to you or to me and we can't do anything with it. Dusvand belongs to the GuruGuru That which takes us from ignorance to knowledge; from darkness, gu, to light, ru. It can be a person, a teaching, or in its most subtle form - the Word. . "Can you decide it?"

I said, "No, I am not competent."

Our discipline of a soldier and our life as a saint is most combined life.

One who practices the disciplines of yoga and has attained self-mastery. and being this sahib and that sahib and all that stuff is fine for your identity if you can satisfy, but one thing basically you must not miss – if you cannot deliver yourself on the time of challenge you have already destroyed yourself. And it takes few minutes to ask what is your opinion. That is your opinion, that's my opinion, what is the common opinion? Once you start deciding the common opinion and looking for the common good, you will never have trouble in life and that's the Sikh way. Sarbat Da Bala; the totality is the reality of the way of the Sikh life.

I am very glad that we are going this time to join and encourage the spirit of the people, I am very fortunate that we have more programs than we can handle. You have no idea what's going on and unfortunate part is they use the Siri GuruGuru That which takes us from ignorance to knowledge; from darkness, gu, to light, ru. Mantra is a wave, a repetition of sound and rhythm that directs or controls the mind. When you recite a mantra you have impact through the meridian points in the mouth, through its meaning, through its pattern of energy, through its rhythm, and through its naad - energetic shape in time. Recited correctly a mantra will activate areas of the nervous system and brain and allow you to shift your state and the perceptual vision or energetic ability associated with it. we have and Siri GuruGuru That which takes us from ignorance to knowledge; from darkness, gu, to light, ru. It can be a person, a teaching, or in its most subtle form - the Word. GranthGranth Literally: knot: book. is our GuruGuru That which takes us from ignorance to knowledge; from darkness, gu, to light, ru. GuruGuru That which takes us from ignorance to knowledge; from darkness, gu, to light, ru. It can be a person, a teaching, or in its most subtle form - the Word. is the Khalsa, Pura SatSat Existence; what is; the subtle essence of Infinity itself. GuruGuru That which takes us from ignorance to knowledge; from darkness, gu, to light, ru. It can be a person, a teaching, or in its most subtle form - the Word. , perfect SatSat Existence; what is; the subtle essence of Infinity itself. GuruGuru That which takes us from ignorance to knowledge; from darkness, gu, to light, ru. It can be a person, a teaching, or in its most subtle form - the Word. . So we don't need a individual to respect and serve as a GuruGuru That which takes us from ignorance to knowledge; from darkness, gu, to light, ru. It can be a person, a teaching, or in its most subtle form - the Word. , we'll need a individual to respect and serve him as our brother or sister. We have passed that stage where a man ruled the man.

So all those who are listening today and ready to go and we are ready to go almost now in two weeks, almost that time has come, must understand that this time we will be asked questions, so many million questions, they have already asked us a list who is coming, what their professions are and how far they have been and how they have adapted this and that. So it is not a question of being a psychologist or a psychiatrist and tear up a person and put it, try to put it together at hundred twenty dollars an hour. It's a question of prevailing the spirit and facing the facts and walking tall and with the grace and those who want to go now, even they should come. This is the time of test and trial for the entire Khalsa nation.

And mind you, we are Americans, we are a sovereign people. And we shall guarantee the fact that our sovereignty is not violated. We are going to visit a country, India, just exactly they come to visit America, but we are sovereign spiritual people, we have made it very clear and we are very proud of our independence religion and religion is a great virtue and state has no interference and we do not play politics. We are going to inspire our people and meet them hand in hand and be with them and feel them.

Therefore, we'll be going places. There will be not any beds, so I will leave behind those who cannot sleep but on beds in hotels, but there will be hay to sleep and hay will work as blankets, but we got to go, we got to be with them and there will not going to be bathrooms for you, it is all those sugarcane fields, you remember them very well. But after all, that's not enough.

We shall not become part of the Sikh history, if we do not stand sawed in the middle and still not recite the JapjiJapji , Japji Sahib The Song of the Soul written by the First Sikh Guru, Guru Naanak Dayv Jee. Saadhana opens with a recitation of Japji each morning at 3:40 am. A mantra, poem, and inspired religious scripture composed by Guru Nanak. Japji Sahib gives a view of the cosmos, the soul, the mind, the challenge of life, and the impact of our actions. Its 40 stanzas are a source of many mantras and can be used as a whole or in part to guide both your mind and your heart. . Some of us has to match that tradition, some of us have to sit in a boiling pot and has to utter Wahe Wahe Guru , Whaa-hay Guroo A mantra of ecstasy and dwelling in God. It is the Infinite teacher of the soul. Also called the gur mantra. GuruWahe Guru , Whaa-hay Guroo A mantra of ecstasy and dwelling in God. It is the Infinite teacher of the soul. Also called the gur mantra. Guru That which takes us from ignorance to knowledge; from darkness, gu, to light, ru. It can be a person, a teaching, or in its most subtle form - the Word. . If we do not repeat the Sikh history on us better than what was the past, we cannot be part of that history and that price we have to pay. If we won't pay today at least we can prepare the children to have that spiritual strength, that endurance, and that vastness and we have to create that deathlessness in our spirit, in our creed, in our essence, in our psyche and in our spirit and that is the way to prepare ourself.

So technically speaking this visit is great. They didn't let us go for nine years, now we go and we are going this year too. And those who are half cooked, 'may I, may I not, can jump up, come along. Yatra is Yatra and it is just done for the sake of the spirit, the soul, it has nothing for the physical comfort and discomfort. So we are ready to go and this Yatra was supposed to be very isolated, comfortable Yatra, but some of us will be, but those who like to just take side trips must be ready for heavy duty side trips, because we have only seven, eight days and we have to go in every corner of the Punjab to let people know we are with them and they are with us and we have to show them the spirit of Ang Sung Wahe Wahe Guru , Whaa-hay Guroo A mantra of ecstasy and dwelling in God. It can be a person, a teaching, or in its most subtle form - the Word. and it should not bother us. It should not. It should be our privilege, our honor and our strength. Let us test it.

So Khalsa of the GuruGuru That which takes us from ignorance to knowledge; from darkness, gu, to light, ru. It can be a person, a teaching, or in its most subtle form - the Word. , this is a straight calling, with no hesitation whatsoever, with no... It is not a intellectual trip, or a intelligent trip or a bookish trip, it's not reading the paper, fifty papers and become professor so and so, it is absolutely not, there is no rotten stuff here, it is just the grand glow of the Khalsa going through the layers of populous Punjab, letting them know 'there lives the spirit of GuruGuru That which takes us from ignorance to knowledge; from darkness, gu, to light, ru. It can be a person, a teaching, or in its most subtle form - the Word. Guru Gobind Singh Tenth Guru of the Sikhs. Gobind SinghGuru Gobind Singh Tenth Guru of the Sikhs. now and forever,' and we have to take care of it.

I know it is very difficult in Punjab to keep white clothes on, but you shall, you shall. You shall be spic and span clean white, absolute real and those who have to clean PrakarmaPrakarma , Parkarma Literally: A window to life. The marble pathway that surrounds the sacred pool and Golden Temple. , I repeat again, you have to take your sleeping bag with you, because though for each one of you there will be humungous security arrangement, they are going to clear twenty five kilometer area, comb it for you, but still it is better that we make this PrakarmaPrakarma , Parkarma Literally: A window to life. The marble pathway that surrounds the sacred pool and Golden Temple. as humble as possible and remain within the vicinity as far as possible. You will have a Z security, that's true. You are going there as sons and daughter of GuruGuru That which takes us from ignorance to knowledge; from darkness, gu, to light, ru. It can be a person, a teaching, or in its most subtle form - the Word. Guru Gobind Singh Tenth Guru of the Sikhs. Gobind SinghGuru Gobind Singh Tenth Guru of the Sikhs. but we don't want anybody to exploit our visit in any derogatory form, therefore, we'll try to keep it as humble and as sweet as we can and that's the way to go.

So I am just giving you all update that still there is a time to go and we should go. Our children are waiting and I'll be glad to see them all filled with dirt and everything. I was told that they didn't have a dhobi, I can tell you I laughed so much that people in the aeroplane thought I have gone insane, because I was reading that letter, then in the middle of that letter I called my chief executive secretary, I said, "In Amritsar if we cannot get a dhobi, there must be something wrong with the whole Indian structure, check it out." But my, my feeling, personal feeling was, sometime things happen which nobody can explain.

Well, I was posted in Amritsar for four and a half years, I think we can get dozen dhobis a minute. There is a whole area which belongs to dhobis, but then they couldn't get a dhobi, it is amazing. So my personal feeling is, must have some, something must have gone wrong somewhere for a right purpose and then I was very grateful to my son who send me a picture that our children doing the laundry themself. I tell you if I ever get to make a school there, I'll see that every children washes his laundry himself and herself, and never give them to dhobi again, never do that mistake. They should not only do laundry, they will starch it and they will also press it properly. We, we should do that, we should sometime make them understand that they are complete and perfect. We give them too much wrong values and wrong promises and wrong comforts and later on it will come to our head and we can't face it.

That's what my beautiful, wonderful grandfather told me. He said, "Yes, the state is yours, this world is yours and people bow to you, but if you do not have a value to carry your head and walk tall, one day your head will roll in the dust. So correctly earn the right values."

And I said, "Where I can earn that?"

And he said, "From the GuruGuru That which takes us from ignorance to knowledge; from darkness, gu, to light, ru. It can be a person, a teaching, or in its most subtle form - the Word. ." And he said, "Go and learn, learn the GuruGuru That which takes us from ignorance to knowledge; from darkness, gu, to light, ru. It can be a person, a teaching, or in its most subtle form - the Word. , learn the values of the GuruGuru That which takes us from ignorance to knowledge; from darkness, gu, to light, ru. It can be a person, a teaching, or in its most subtle form - the Word. ."

And I have asked you when you are coming with me on this Yatra we are going to the house of GuruGuru That which takes us from ignorance to knowledge; from darkness, gu, to light, ru. It can be a person, a teaching, or in its most subtle form - the Word. Guru Ram Das Fourth Guru of the Sikhs. Ram DasGuru Ram Das Fourth Guru of the Sikhs. where we come from, where we belong to, we are going back home and there is no more comfortable feeling than that. I wish I should exchange myself with these students who are in Amritsar and I am not. I am willing to exchange it for anything.

One day one of them have to carry this, I know that and one of them and one of you have to carry this, I know that, but with best of our feelings and our prayers I am asking you, let us go to Amritsar, let us go to house of GuruGuru That which takes us from ignorance to knowledge; from darkness, gu, to light, ru. It can be a person, a teaching, or in its most subtle form - the Word. Guru Ram Das Fourth Guru of the Sikhs. Ram DasGuru Ram Das Fourth Guru of the Sikhs. and let us carry the bright beautiful spirit of the Khalsa and go through the layers of Punjab, the populous and go through it for just sharing, for caring, for compassion, for kindness and as a honorable courtesy because that gave us the house of the GuruGuru That which takes us from ignorance to knowledge; from darkness, gu, to light, ru. Student: I would like to ask a question on (?)?

YB: Now you have stood in the Sangat, sure you are allowed.

Student: The best school in India, the boarding school cost about thirteen hundred dollars a year and why we are charging two hundred ten dollars and there is not proper teachers and proper place...?

YB: It's a very simple thing my dear, that account and this accountancy is very open and you should take courage to go and sit in the office and discuss.

Student: I called (?) Kaur, and she said it is not allowed.

YB: No, no, no this is, this is, this is not true.

Student: I called it to her and (?).

YB: That is all right, you can go and you can go and discuss the account with her.

Student: I did and she said, 'you are not allowed and you can write me a proposal.'

YB: Oh then, write her a proposal, she will, perhaps she wants to give you answer.

Student: If you don't have the answer, this is your administration.

YB: You are so mistaken.

Student: I am not mistaken.

YB: This body handles its account totally independently and I administer it so it can be right. And if there, if you find anything wrong in the accounts the proper person will be punished properly and it's a better account than your books, I can assure you that.

Student: (?) you can come and find...

YB: No it has been, it has been audited.

Student: Why? I mean, we have been audited, we prepare our books and...

YB: That's what I said, this account has been audited, and we have paid India hundred twenty thousand dollars more innocently which we do not think we can recover and that is where the problem is, therefore, you have every right to audit the accounts.

Student: I mean, you can give us an answer like even if you take...

YB: Am I, am I supposed to give you an answer for the fact that you don't understand simple something, because you cannot deal with officially?

Student: If you are saving money from this money to build the school, I can understand.

YB: No, I am not doing anything.

Student: I have lived in Ludhiana...

YB: These are your presumptions and you are absolutely neurotic to bring this question.

Student: Not neurotic, you can say anything you want.

YB: Absolutely.

Student: (-----)

YB: This is not right, this is not right. You have the right to go to the office and deal with it.

Student: I asked the lady, she said, "You are not allowed, parents are not allowed to know."

YB: That's not true.

Student: Then she is lying then.

YB: It is none of your business to tell her anything or tell me anything.

Student: Why?

YB: You asked me a question, I gave you an answer.

Student: Okay, that's your answer (?)...

YB: The question is this is the GurdwaraGurdwara Literally the door of the Guru; traditional place where Sikh worship services are held. and we do not want to turn into a battlefield.

Student: It is not a battlefield.

YB: It is, it is a very simple administration question, which you could have solved. Everything which is according to the administration can be solved, you have upset the Sangat for nothing, and you have disturbed the atmosphere for nothing. And this is not our tradition, this is...
